Interesting! I've read some books about Dickens that don't present him in a good light...regarding first marriage and children, mainly. It was very surprising. About sleep...you have to feel safe to sleep. That's my observation. The mind with anxiety and fear, ticking away, isn't feeling safe. That's why I think cannabis works, unless it doesn't (can also exaggerate something negative). I love the idea of Queen V smoking a joint. π

That's no fun at all ..poor Victorians. They suggested sleeping with the lettuce tooβ¦to eliminate sleep problems.
Because lettuce is boring and might therefore send you to sleep?

That's compelling:) Dickens was complexβ¦and complicated. You're right about safety. There's been awhile since I felt that.
